The 2012 Photographic Arts Society
Walter A. Sharp, Jr. Memorial Scholarship

On August 28th 2006, the Photographic Arts Society lost a dear friend, Walter Sharp. Walt has been a PAS member since the beginning. Walt was a fine photographer and was always eager to share his vast knowledge of photography with the group. This scholarship is awarded in Walt's memory as a tribute to his great talent and his eagerness to share it with others.
Every year, the Photographic Arts Society awards the Walter A. Sharp, Jr. Memorial Scholarship to someone who has an active passion for photography as an artist expression and is actively seeking a degree towards that end.
Deadline for the annual Photographic Arts Society Walter A. Sharp, Jr. Memorial Scholarship is Friday June 1 2012. 2012 PAS Scholarship Application
2011's winner Paul Bergstrom started taking photographs since he was 7 years old. It was his father that initially got him interested. He then gained interest by just taking pictures, and then taking classes in high school with some very influential teachers. After doing some work for some local newspapers, he is attending Columbia College in Chicago. We honored him at our July meeting. Here are some pictures of the event:
